    Sir ,
i am trying to use a TSOP1138 IR sensor for front sensor of my mobile robot. Do i need to use a timer555 to generate a 38kHz pulse and connect it to pin2 of TSOP?
Please teach me the correct way of using it if i m wrong
    Thank you

TSOP1738 is the IR receiver, and pin2 is its output.
Use IC555 to generate 38khz signal and connect an infrared LED to its output.
please check the Automatic room light controller project at the project section.

Sir, Meaning that the output from IC555 is connect to a infrared transmitter while for TSOP, Vs to 5V, Output to 8051.
    Is it correct?

I changed my circuit. But it is not working as well. Output pin is TSOP1138 always having around 4.1v although i try to block/unblock the infrared transmitter. Is this a good way of connecting for a medium range infrared sensor ? i jus need a simple high/low voltage level for blocked/unblock condition for my mobile robot

    Thank you

Use this circuit for the transmitter.
